Idealcombi has introduced an insulating bridge, to sit between the aluminium cladding and timber frame, in order to enhance the warm technology employed in its composite windows.

This will improve the overall performance of the complete window by 0.1W/m²K. This means, based on a 1230mm x 1480mm size, that a standard frame window glazed with 2 x 4mm low energy sealed unit will have a u-value for the whole window of 1.4W/m²K.

Automatic smoke and heat ventilation added to windows

Senkklapp-Element-K2.jpg Schuco's ASW window system has been improved by the addition of a range of certified SHEVS (smoke and heat exhaust ventilation system) products.
The range includes a choice of inward and outward opening SHEVS windows for vertical facades and skylights. Schuco claims that no other company offer these options.
SHEVS technology is designed to evacuate smoke and heat from a building, while the occupants escape. When combined with temperature of carbon dioxide sensors, the same AWS windows may also be used for natural ventilation or internal climate control.
The opening types available in the range comprise inward opening bottom hung, inward opening side hing, outward opening top hung, outward opening side hung and outward opening roof vent.
