    New CDM Regulations

I'm a bit confused, I hope someone can help me out.

Under the new CDM regulations, do I have to notify the HSE about a project I am about to begin on a commercial development. There's four of us on the job and I reckon it will take us about 15 days' work in total.

If i do have to report it to the HSE, what do I have to do, I wouldnt have a clue where to start!

Remember - walls are built one brick at a time.

     Hi bazza

I'm not a lawyer but as I understand it, a project is only "notifiable" if it lasts more that 30 days or involves more than 500 person days of construction work.

Of course, that doesn't mean you don't have to abide by the CDM regulations - just that you don't have to notify anyone about the project.

There's stuff about it on the HSE site here but frankly, I can't make head nor tail of it.

This should tell you most things you need to know about the new CDM regs.

To be honest, they make life easier for builders cos they pass more responsibility to the client.
