    Cowboy builders presented as pigs

BuildersBox recently blogged on cowboy builders presented as pigs in a childrens book titled 'Three Little Cowboy Builders'. The story has got national press attention, as the presentation of a pig as a bricklayer apparently raises 'cultural issues' according to Becta, the government's educational technology agency, and offended not only builders, but Muslims as well. Do you think this is true? Or is it political correctness gone mad?

Typical. It isn't offensive, and it isn't doesn't even make much sense for kids. Surely a cowboy builder should simply be a cowboy, not an animal as well. But I guess that is the nature of kid's nursery rhymes. As for raising 'cultural issues', I don't really see how it can offend muslims, unless maybe they are muslim builders, but still, it all seems a bit silly.
