Googles Sketchup - Plans made easy

One of my friends told me about sketchup . It's a free bit of software you can use to draw up 3D plans of any job you're doing around the house (or someone elses). It's free and from google so it must be good!

It took me a little while to get the hang of it, but I locked myself in a room and was making 3D plans of my new kitchen. What I liked about it was I could move things like the cooker and washing machine around and actualy see where I could make the best use of the space I have. It's really worth the effort to learn. Have a look at what other people have done - I'm along way off this!

Once you've finished you can even put your "creation" on Google Earth. Of course, the downside of all this is that I spent most of Sunday playing with the software rather than actualy doing any work in the kitchen!

    Word out ;?

Google is just amazing isn't it. Hadn't come across this one but you're right - it's brilliant.

It looks like they have just used the same programme that they were using to construct 3D cities like New York in Google Earth. Pretty cool though, it shows where the future could lie in design etc.
